Hey,
DFCD Sergeant Ramon Hounshell and Firefighter Chuckie Ryan both continue to show signs of improvement. Firefighter Ryan will return to the operating room tomorrow for more skin grafts to his arms. Although he had a tough night last night and spent part of today resting in his room, Ryan was able to make 10 laps around the ICU today during rehab and continues to avoid any set backs in his care. His strong will and determination to return to the job have certainly kept him focused with his rehabilitation.
Lt. Alvarado and Firefighter Deavers both returned to the burn clinic today for a follow up visit. Lt. Alvarado’s burns are healing wonderfully while he counts down the days until he can return to work. Unfortunately the burns to Deavers left arm are not healing as everyone had hoped and he will have to return on Monday for a skin graft.
Fox 5 DC conducted an interview this afternoon with Deavers and Alvarado at Washington Hospital Center that you can watch below. A press conference is scheduled for this Thursday at Washington Hospital Center with the Firefighters and the staff of the Burn Center and Washington Hospital Center.
