QUEENS, New York – A seven-alarm fire injured at least seven firefighters and damaged several businesses in Queens on Friday evening.
The fire started around midnight at 37th Avenue and Main Street in Flushing.
The FDNY says the fire started in a hair salon and had extended into an adjacent three-story building.
Over 200 firefighters were on scene and it took approximately seven hours to extinguish the blaze.
Seven firefighters were taken to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
