TOWN OF DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A volunteer firefighter for the East Syracuse Fire Department was sent to the hospital Wednesday after the ladder truck he was on collided with a roll-off truck.
The firefighter had to be cut out of the truck and suffered minor injuries, East Syracuse Fire Chief Paul Haynes told NewsChannel 9 on the scene.

The ladder truck was passing through the Town of DeWitt on its way to a call in Minoa, to assist another volunteer fire service, the chief said. The ladder truck then collided with the other big rig, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
The crash happened on Fly Road, about a half-mile from each Collamer Road and East Taft Road.
An investigation will determine exactly what caused the crash.
