Indianapolis Fire Department have confirmed that this incident is not related to the crash on 30th and Mass. They also provided more information on the crash, stating that a IFD tactical attempted to maneuver around a “wide load” vehicle being escorted by Indiana State Police. IFD said th tactical vehicle was not successful in the maneuver, which resulted in the fire truck flipping. No other vehicles were involved, they reported.
All four firefighters within Engine 43 sustained some injury ranging from minor to serious, but none of them are life-threatening. They are currently undergoing treatment at area hospitals.
