All,
We regret to pass on that 2 Prince Edward Island (Canada) Paramedics died in the Line of Duty on Tuesday. They were transporting a patient (who also died) when they were reportedly struck head on by a truck in Melrose, New Brunswick, Canada.
Paramedic Jenna Croucher, 23 – who comes from a family of Paramedics was a protector and a helper — someone who made everyone feel comfortable, said her father Robin Croucher, who also worked as a Paramedic.
P.E.I.’s emergency services community is mourning the loss of Croucher, along with her colleague and veteran Paramedic Mike MacKenzie, 56, who was driving, also died in that collision on Tuesday. The truck driver received serious but non life threatening injuries. The crash is being investigated.
100+ Paramedics from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have and are covering the area, volunteering on their own time to provide area coverage so that the P.E. Island EMS and community can mourn and honor the lives of the fallen.
Our condolences to all those affected.
