Two Jericho firefighters suffered injuries at a house fire early this morning. The fire was reported 2:05 a.m. at a home on Birchwood Park Drive. A man inside the home awoke to a loud pop from the third floor, where he recently had a renovation. After discovering smoke, the man evacuated his family and called the fire department. Roughly 100 firefighters from Jericho and neighboring departments responded to extinguish the fire. The injured firefighters were taken to an area hospital, where they were treated and have since beenreleased. One suffered smoke inhalation, the other’s injuries were burns.
