As 40 Dehi (India) fire companies fought a 3 story plastic factory, a boiler in the building exploded, trapping four persons, including two firemen. After more than 15 hours of search operations involving various agencies, the body of a worker at the factory was brought out. The fire occurred Wednesday evening but the bodies of two missing firemen were found today (Sunday) and were pulled out from the debris of that plastic factory that collapsed after a fire in outer Delhi’s Narela area, taking the death toll to three. The bodies of Firefighter Sunil Kumar, 40, and Fire operator Manjeet Dagar , 35, were pulled out from the rubble during a rescue operation this afternoon.
The members faced difficulty in carrying out the rescue operation since the front portion of the building was intact while its rear part had collapsed. The fallen Firefighters were found next to each other towards the back side of the first floor area.
Rescue operations are still underway to find the fourth person, a factory worker, whose identity is still not known. Our condolences to all those affected. RIP.
