CAMDEN, NJ — Two Camden firefighters sustained back injuries during an overnight blaze in the city early Friday morning, officials confirmed.
The cause of the 2-alarm fire, which took place on the 500 block of Royden Street, is still under investigation. The building was vacant and no civilians were hurt.
One of the injured firefighters fell through the second story floor onto the first floor and was transported to an area hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The other firefighter was treated and released, fire officials said.
Local 2578 President Sam Munoz told TAPinto Camden Friday that the Camden Fire Department (CFD) responded around 4:30 a.m. Additional units were called in from Gloucester City and Westmont.
