All,
Fire Chief Michael Phillips, from the Marble Falls area, went missing earlier today after being swept away by floodwaters while responding to a call in Cow Creek in Travis County. Chief
Phillips was driving an emergency vehicle when he went missing late this morning.
Phillips is the Chief of the Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department and was responding to an emergency related to the same Fourth of July weather event that has killed at least 43 people, including 15 children, in the Kerrville area.
Marble Falls is about 50 miles northwest of Austin, on the Colorado River in the Texas Hill Country. Much more to follow, as the death toll of children and adults continues to rise from these horrific floods.
As of Saturday evening, the severe flooding has reportedly killed at least 50 people in Texas, including 43 in Kerr County and three in Burnet County.
