A township ambulance was taken out of commission Tuesday evening after it rear-ended a car on Quakerbridge Road near the entrance to Mercer Mall, according to police.
According to the West Windsor Police Department, the ambulance was responding to a call for assistance for a heart attack victim at Walmart at about 7:40 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, but police said the damage was minor.
No injuries were reported.
The ambulance was one of several in the fleet of West Windsor’s paid EMS squad that covers calls during the day.
