A MEDIC ambulance on the way to a call rolled several times before coming to rest on its side on Old Dowd Road in west Charlotte. Authorities say the driver lost control and crashed shortly after 10 a.m. near the rental car lots at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
The only people inside were two MEDIC employees. One crew member was stuck inside for about 20 minutes, but was not seriously injured. Both employees were taken to Presbyterian Hospital to be checked out. MEDIC officials said both were wearing their seatbelts and their injuries are not life-threatening.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is still investigating the crash.
