Bad news from Vermillion Township, Ohio where it appears the driver of an ambulance suffered some sort of medical emergency this afternoon, which caused his vehicle to veer off the road into a ravine.
The 76-year-old patient that EMS was carrying in the ambulance died in the crash and both the driver and an emergency responder were injured.
A female EMS attendant sustained serious head, neck and back injuries and was flown to Toledo for treatment. Her name was not immediately released.
Witnesses claim the ambulance for North Central EMS swerved several times on Liberty Avenue before it struck a guardrail and rolled down the hill into the ravine.
