Two firefighters have been hospitalized after fighting a blaze at a Broadview Heights home Monday night, Chief Jeffrey Hajek confirmed to 3News.
According to Hajek, the fire occurred at a house on West Royalton Road (state Route 82), which is currently closed between State and Broadview Roads. The firefighters were both taken to the hospital via ambulance, and their exact conditions are unknown at this time.
Hajek also said multiple police officers at the scene took themselves to the hospital after feeling the effects of smoke inhalation. Authorities have not indicated how long it will take to get the fire under control and clear the scene.
First responders from multiple departments in the area are believed to have deployed to the fire.
