Police say an investigation is underway after allegations that a St. Joseph County 911 dispatch employee was giving prescription drugs to other employees.
Police were informed about this on Tuesday, February 25 and began interviewing dispatch employees that afternoon, according to a release from county police that was issued Saturday.
Detectives consulted with the local DEA joint task force, but, “because there was no evidence of the involvement of a licensed physician or medical provider, that St. Joseph County Police would maintain the investigation,” according to the release.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and it is expected to wrap up Monday or Tuesday. As of Sunday police have not said there were any arrests. Stay with WSBT 22 online and on the air for updates.
