Earlier this morning, in Miami Township/Yellow Springs (Greene County east of Dayton) a mayday was declared while companies were operating at a basement fire. The fire was reported at 0457 hours, a MAYDAY was declared at 0521 hours, a radio transmission of "We have a working code" was sent at 0523 hours. At 0527 there was a transmission of "Firefighter is back on air" and at 0533 hours the medic unit was transporting a Firefighter high priority emergency to the hospital. Additional reports are that the crews were able to get pulses back on the Firefighter. We will have updates later.
3 individuals and 1 company have been indicted for manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment in the Line of Duty deaths of the Firefighters.
