NY EMT Age 19 LODD, Fire Chief Struck (The Secret List)

It is with deep regret that we pass on the Line of Duty Death of the City of Glen Cove EMS Corp (Nassau County, Long Island) active EMT Susan Giovanniello, age 19. Reports are that she suffered a medical emergency following her shift that ran Saturday evening until Sunday morning.

EMT Giovanniello proudly served the volunteer unit responding to many emergency calls throughout the City of Glen Cove, rising up from Glen Cove EMS Explorer Post 1072 to a caring professional who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our community.

Susan, with her contagious smile and demeanor, put forth calm in stressful situations as it related to patient care. Her enthusiasm for training and teamwork with the Corps will be greatly missed; she is a hero and will live on in hearts forever.

FUNERAL INFORMATION
Susan will be reposing at Dodge Thomas Funeral Home Wednesday 4/5/2023 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. The funeral will be Thursday 4/6/2023 10am at St. Rocco’s Church, Glen Cove, NY 11542.

A Fire Chief from Washoe County, Nevada, was struck by a vehicle while helping another driver, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Chief Charles Moore was struck by a vehicle on northbound Interstate 530 around 0810 hours this morning. He was taken to the hospital with chest injuries and abrasions and is “recovering at home and is in good spirits.
