On May 8, 2004 my fire department was doing its yearly yard cleanup. I was raking leaves thinking I pulled a muscle in my chest. I had my the 9 year old son with me, the pains got worse and I traveled home with my son in the car. I reached home and told my wife that I have this pulling in my chest. Not knowing myself that I was having a heart attack, my niece gave me some nitro pills and my wife called the fire department. To make a long story short, I had a 100% blockage in my left descending artery. A stent was imp laced and I was fine. To let you know I smoked about 2 packs of cigarettes a day, being a NYC Police Officer I ate garbage food, worked many hours of overtime since Sept 11, 2001. I thought my health was good. Now it is better, I don’t smoke, eat right and exercise. The best thing is that my wife and my son see me everyday. Nothing could replace that.
