A man is recovering from two separate injuries overnight. First he lit himself on fire. Then, the ambulance taking him to the hospital crashed overnight in Camden. Authorities tell Action News that the man had been using rubbing alcohol when he accidentally set himself on fire by lighting a cigarette. The ambulance was taking the man to Cooper Hospital when it was hit by a car at Mount Ephraim Avenue. The driver of the car kept on going.
An alert driver of an Inquirer delivery truck saw the crash – followed the car – and alerted police. They found the car nearby. It is unclear if police were able to catch up with its driver.
