YORK, Pa. — Authorities said a woman being rushed to York Hospital was pronounced dead after the ambulance she was being transported in was involved in a collision. Officials said five people were injured Tuesday when the ambulance from Biglerville collided with a car at the intersection of routes 30 and 616 in West Manchester Township.
Fawn Sova, 42, of Gettysburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tuesday, the deputy York County coroner said Sova might have suffered a fatal cardiac arrest before the crash. An autopsy is being performed to determine if Sova was killed in the crash or died of a heart attack. Before the accident, EMS personnel were performing lifesaving measures on Sova.
Police said the driver of the car, Keith Langford, of Glen Rock, was among the injured. Witnesses said the ambulance had its siren and flashing lights on.
