A two-alarm fire has left three people in the care of the American Red Cross and five firefighters injured Sunday morning.
According to the Buffalo Police Department, a fire at a vacant house on Trenton Avenue sparked at around 3:15 a.m.; more firefighters were called to the scene shortly after to help fight the fire.
The blaze was able to be contained within 30 minutes, however two neighboring buildings were damaged.
Three residents of a neighboring apartment building are in the care of the American Red Cross, according to a spokesperson for the Buffalo Fire Department.
The department says that five firefighters were burned and one sustained a knee injury while putting the fire out, however they have all been released from ECMC.
The third building that was damaged was also found to be vacant.
A cause for the fire is under investigation.
