FIREFIGHTER SERIOUSLY INJURED – STRUCK ON HIGHWAY BY DUI DRIVER – CALIFORNIA

Three drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI after a series of separate crashes at the same Simi Valley freeway scene early Sunday morning, including one that left a Ventura County firefighter significantly injured, authorities said.

The chain of events began at 2:22 a.m. on the 118 Freeway near Tapo Canyon Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ryan Ayers.

CHP and Ventura County firefighters responded to a crash involving a wrong-way driver in a red Tesla. Four vehicles, each with a single occupant, were involved in the initial collision, Ayers said.
