Several Firefighters were trapped inside a two-house fire in St. Mary’s County early Tuesday morning, according to the Maryland State Police (MSP). The house is located on Deer Wood Park Drive in Leonardtown.
Firefighters were called to Deer Wood Park Drive in Leonardtown around 0530 hours for a working house fire.
As of 0700 Maryland State Police advised that several have become trapped in a basement during what appears to be a structure collapse and several medevacs were requested.. Multiple MSP troopers were being stationed around the area to assist in escorting excavators in an attempt to free the Firefighters.
Officials said there are several fire departments on the scene with mutual aid organizations

Firefighter removed from the residence and being transported with life-threatening injuries.
At 4:07 hours Firefighters from Leonardtown, Hollywood, Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, Valley Lee, and Seventh District responded to the 20000 block of Deer Wood Park Drive in Leonardtown, for the reported house on fire. Crews arrived on the scene to find fire showing from the first, second floor and through the roof.
