PLEASANTVILLE, Ohio — A central Ohio firefighter was hospitalized Saturday after he was pinned between two tanker trucks while on a call in Fairfield County Friday night. The 62-year-old Berne Township firefighter had to be flown by helicopter to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, NBC 4 reported. The firefighter’s name was not released.
A hospital spokesman said the firefighter was in fair condition with a broken leg. Fairfield County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Darrell Ball said the firefighter was hurt while his colleagues were fighting a house fire. He said the man got caught between the two tanker trucks while one was refilling at a hydrant.
