FIREFIGHTER INJURED IN BRUSH TRUCK ROLLOVER – OHIO

MADISON COUNTY, Ohio — A fire district employee was hospitalized after a brush fire truck rolled over multiple times in Madison County Monday morning.

The Central Townships Joint Fire District said the crash happened around 8:50 a.m. on state Route 56 near Moorman Road.

The fire district said its apparatus, Grass Fighter 293, was traveling southbound on state Route 56 at around 55 mph when the front right tire left the roadway.

As the driver tried to steer back onto the roadway, the fire district said they lost control and the truck rolled over multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof in the roadway.

The driver was evaluated at the scene and taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center for treatment, according to the fire district. Officials have not released the extent of the driver’s injuries.

The fire district noted that the truck’s driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

“The Central Townships Joint Fire District’s primary concern at this time is the health, safety, and well-being of our employee,” the fire district said in a news release. “We are grateful for the emergency personnel who responded to the incident and provided assistance.”
