A firefighter was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after battling a house fire in Wellfleet, according to the fire department.
Fire officials said a call came in around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday for a structure fire at 10 Finn Road.
According to officials, an exterior fire spread to the interior of the home. Wellfleet firefighters received assistance from companies as far away as Harwich.
The firefighter who was taken to the hospital was evaluated, treated and released. Officials did not say what the firefighter was treated for.
Wellfleet police, who also assisted, said the fire has been knocked down and firefighters are treating several hot spots. Police said roads in the area have been closed.
Firefighters also had to battle the elements, with bitter temperatures and wind gusts above 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
