A firefighter was injured and two units destroyed during an apartment fire in Phoenix on Thursday evening.
The blaze occurred in a two-story apartment building at about 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of 32nd Street and McDowell Road. When crews arrived, a first-floor unit was burning with flames stretching to the second floor.
Fire crews were able to put out the blaze before it extended to any other apartment units.
A firefighter received some burn injuries to his hand and face during the fire. He was sent to a local hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover. No other injuries were reported in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
