An FDNY ambulance transporting a heart attack patient to the hospital collided with an FDNY fire truck responding to a fire in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, this morning, leaving the patient dead and a family member seriously injured.
Ladder 102, T-boned the FDNY ambulance at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue And Throop Avenue just after 0045 hours this morning.
A heart attack patient was being transported to Woodhull Hospital at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead.
A 35-year-old woman, a family member who was in the ambulance with the patient, was seriously hurt.
Eight FDNY members were also hurt in the collision. None of their injuries were reported serious.
Both emergency vehicles reportedly had their lights activated at the time of the crash. KTIYPs
