All,
An Acadian* Ambulance EMT from Mississippi died in the Line of Duty early today in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Slidell. EMT John Mitchell Crow, 36 of Pascagoula — was wearing a seat belt, but still sustained fatal injuries when the 2021 Chevrolet ambulance he was driving crashed into the back of a 2020 Volvo Straight Box Truck around 0040 hours.. The wreck occurred in dense fog on the westbound side of I-10 near Louisiana Hwy. 1090 in St. Tammany Parish. Two other people inside the ambulance — a Paramedic and a patient — sustained minor injuries in the crash and were taken for hospital treatment. The driver of the Volvo truck was not injured.
(*Acadian Ambulance covers most of the state of Louisiana, a large portion of Texas, two counties in Tennessee, and one county in Mississippi for 911 and related EMS services)
Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
Take Care. Be Careful. Pass it On.
