SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A 2-year-old girl died after a house fire in Shaler Township on Friday night, police said. Four other residents ended up at the hospital for their injuries.
The fire on Fall Run Road was reported at about 9:45 p.m.
In a news release, police said firefighters found Danika DeRamo on the first floor of the home and took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“Our hearts go out to the family, and all involved in the rescue of this young child,” the release said. “Please keep all involved in your thoughts and prayers.”
Four firefighters were also hurt and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
