A Dallas (Texas) Police Officer was struck and killed in the Line of Duty by an allegedly drunk driver early this morning as he stood by his unit, blocking the scene of a prior crash on the freeway.
The Dallas Police Officer was standing outside his marked patrol vehicle with his emergency lights on in the northbound lanes of North Central Expressway at Walnut Hill Lane around 0145 hours when a Kia Forte driving at a high rate of speed slammed into him. The Officer was transported to Baylor Hospital where he subsequently died of his injuries. The driver and his passenger are uninjured.
NOTE: While not a Firefighter or EMT, we share this terrible loss because of the same risk shared by those in our profession. Our condolences to all those affected. rest In Peace.
