We regret to pass on that 1 of the 3 injured Queensland Firefighters (Australia) has died in the Line of Duty from her injuries. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) 1st Class Firefighter Izabella “Izzy” Nash, 46, initially suffered critical injuries inside with two colleagues about 0230 hours on Tuesday before all three were feared lost.
Her two fellow Firefighters were rescued but it is believed Ms Nash ran out of air. A second FF Lia Drew remains in the hospital with burns to her arms and hands, smoke inhalation but is in stable condition. Both were described as veteran Firefighters with around 25 years of experience between them. A 3rd Firefighter escaped without serious injury.
The two Firefighters are said to have been trapped on the second story of the building as they attacked the fire. Nash, with a reputation of being”super fit” and loving the job, was initially in the military before joining QFES and had a family history of uniform services after her father was a member of the police force and her partner is a Firefighter.
Our condolences to all those affected-Rest In Peace.Rest in Peace.
