All,
We regret to pass on that West Memphis (Arkansas) Firefighter Jason Lang was killed in the Line of Duty early Saturday morning, February 25, 2023.
Firefighter Lang was en route to an EMT clinical training class in Pine Bluff when he stopped to render aid during a traffic accident alongside the interstate and was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler passing by. Lang has been with the West Memphis Fire Department since December 2021. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.

T-STUD FIREFIGHTING
Just when you finally started to realize that lightweight wood truss construction is a problem for firefighting operations-there is something relatively new that we should all be aware of.
Tstuds.
Tstuds are being used as an alternative to solid 2×6 framing lumber.
We’re gonna reach out to the Fire Safety Research Institute at UL and see what information and related facts that Steve K, Dan M and the troops have to pass on.
In the meantime, check these videos out-but watch it from a…..
FIREFIGHTING, FIRE SPREAD (open spaces?)…
and COLLAPSE… perspective….
