Several people are being treated in various area hospitals after a crash between an SUV and an ambulance.
Police say the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading south on West 100th Street and ran a red light at North Marginal. Police say that the jeep then broadsided the ambulance.
The impact sent the ambulance up over the sidewalk, through a chain link fence and up a hill where it finally came to a stop.
The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time but that patient did not suffer any additional injuries in the crash. The patient was taken on to the hospital after the accident.
Both paramedics along with two people from the jeep were also taken to the hospital for treatment but none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.
Police are still investigating.
