A woman’s insurance company is suing the city of Springfield for $27,457 in connection with an ambulance crash that caused the woman to be injured, according to the lawsuit filed last week in Lane County Circuit Court.
The crash occurred Oct. 16, 2010, while Carole G. O’Brien was being transported by city-owned ambulance to a hospital for treatment of chest pains, according to the suit filed Oct. 1 by State Farm Mutual Automotive Insurance Company.
The ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a center road divider on Mohawk Boulevard, according to the suit.
O’Brien was injured in the crash, the suit states.
State Farm subsequently paid to O’Brien personal-injury protection benefits totaling $27,457, and now wants the city to reimburse it that amount, according to the lawsuit.
