CITY OF WYOMING, OHIO: A Wyoming firefighter who fell nearly 30 feet during a training exercise May 15 has been released from University Hospital. Jon Glassman, 50, was released Thursday, fire officials said. Glassman suffered several fractures that required surgery, and he will be returning to University for additional surgery in the near future, officials said. Wyoming firefighter William Bryant Davis, 23, remains in fair condition at University with fracture injuries. Both men are from Wyoming. The two firefighters were practicing at the Colerain Township Fire Department training facility when the roof ladder they were on became loose and slid off the training building, Rielage said. The firefighters, wearing about 50 pounds of equipment, fell from the roof onto asphalt. About 20 Wyoming firefighters were participating in the exercise at the facility on Springdale Road when the men fell. An investigation into the accident continues, and preliminary report on the incident could be finished in two weeks. “We want to make sure that we have been as thorough as possible,” said Wyoming Fire-EMS Chief Robert Rielage.
