A bit of good news. The condition of the Firefighter injured in yesterdays fire that claimed the life of Lt. Jason Menard is improving. Reports are that he is still in ICU after suffering 2nd & 3rd degree burns. He is not being publicly identified but is stable with some very serious injuries.
Investigators were at the fire scene at 7 Stockholm St. Thursday morning. Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were there.
As you know, Lt. Menard, 39, was killed in the Line of Duty as he and other members were searching for reported civilians (as you will hear on the radio). 3 other Firefighters were brought to a hospital. Two were treated and released. The investigation into the fire includes the possibility of a space heater and electrical unit in the home.
HERE is the radio traffic from that fire.
