Worcester Firefighter In ICU, Radio Traffic, How U Can Help the Worcester Fire Lieutenants Family

Billy    November 14, 2019    No Comments

A bit of good news. The condition of the Firefighter injured in yesterdays fire that claimed the life of Lt. Jason Menard is improving. Reports are that he is still in ICU after suffering 2nd & 3rd degree burns. He is not being publicly identified but is stable with some very serious injuries.

Investigators were at the fire scene at 7 Stockholm St. Thursday morning. Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were there.

As you know, Lt. Menard, 39, was killed in the Line of Duty as he and other members were searching for reported civilians (as you will hear on the radio). 3 other Firefighters were brought to a hospital. Two were treated and released. The investigation into the fire includes the possibility of a space heater and electrical unit in the home.

HERE is the radio traffic from that fire.

PLEASE NOTE HOW YOU CAN HELP:
The City of Worcester is expected to announce plans soon to establish a memorial fund to benefit Menard’s family.
Also-the Tunnel to Towers Foundation will officially announce plans to help Menard’s family during an event at the Worcester Fire Department on Friday. Organizers hope to have the Menard family’s mortgage paid off by Christmas thanks to donations from around the country. Tunnel to Towers previously paid off more than 150 mortgages,
