WHAT USED TO BE….
Maybe This Video Will Help.
I never thought I would have such a battle installing residential fire sprinklers in my families homes. In my area, the regional “water authority” still doesn’t wanna “recognize” residential fire sprinklers and they wanted to charge us a commercial tap fee.
So I went with Plan B, a self contained system.
You can beat city hall.
What I went thru is NOT the norm for most. Most water providers “get it.” Each day, as we personally see the destruction at “modern” house fires-the solution to “that terrible fire” is becoming more and more understandable.
In some areas, the elected officials, home builders the public need a simple, understandable and practical no BS understanding about residential fire sprinklers…..and this will help.
Take just one minute to check this out-and even better-share with your locally elected officials. It’s a simple way for you to get them to understand the importance of residential fire sprinklers.

The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) launched “Fire Sprinklers Buy Time, Time Buys Life” campaign, which includes the above website www.firesprinklersbuylife.com and the above new national TV commercial, titled “What Used To Be.”
The campaign (very easily) HELPS FIREFIGHTERS explain the importance of fire sprinklers to protect the families, pets and most treasured memories to the community served. The commercial also underscores the reality of today’s fire, the impact that modern furnishings have on the time to flashover, and the potential devastation that fire poses. The actual making of the commercial involved a real fire with modern materials where fire sprinklers were not present. The ending shows what life is like with fire sprinklers with the intent that water is good and protect what fire will destroy. A No Brainer From The NFSA.
Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.
