Two Clark County, Nevada firefighters were taken to the hospital Tuesday after suffering injuries at a working house fire in Las Vegas. One firefighter injured his knee after falling off a ladder; the other was treated for heat-related illness.
“It’s always difficult. We always hate to see our own go down or have any problems,” Clark County Battalion Chief Chris Blackburn told KSNV. “It’s difficult for us, but we focus on the task at hand and try to get the job done. We have our own paramedics on scene so they were treated quickly and taken to the hospital.”
Chief Blackburn said hoarder conditions inside the townhome made the fire more difficult to reach.
Six engines, one truck, two rescue units and two chiefs’ rigs were on scene, totaling around 34 personnel.
