A two-alarm fire damaged two houses and a garage in North Long Beach and injured two firefighters Saturday, authorities said.
It was reported just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Elm Avenue and 59th Street, Long Beach Fire Department Capt. Matt Dobberpuhl said. The flames were out at 3:09 p.m.
Forty firefighters were called to put out the blaze, Dobberpuhl said.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for evaluation, Long Beach City Councilman Rex Richardson said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
