A firefighter has suffered life-changing injuries in an accident during a training exercise, while a second suffered minor injuries in the same incident.
The seriously injured firefighter, who has not been named, serves with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, as does the other firefighter, Derbyshire Live reported.
He was taking part in a rope rescue training exercise, which involves firefighters abseiling, when the accident happened just after noon on Sunday at Harpur Hill, near Buxton, in Derbyshire.
Both firefighters were taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital where the seriously hurt one continues to be treated for his injuries while the other one, who also hasn’t been named, was discharged from hospital after treatment.
