By Sarah Doiron, WPRI:
A fire engine from the Lake Mishnock Fire Department is now out of service after it was involved in a crash Thursday morning.
According to the Lake Mishnock Fire/Rescue Facebook page, Engine 1 was responding to a fire just before 6:30 a.m. when it crashed.
The fire engine was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Assistant Fire Chief Peter Gardner said the engine crashed due to poor road conditions.
The department said three firefighters were on the truck at the time and only suffered minor injuries. Gardner said all three crew members had their seatbelts on.
“The main thing is the truck,” Gardner said while describing the damage from the crash. “It can be replaced…as long as my guys are alright.”
