One resident suffered burns and three firefighters suffered heat issues in a Sunday morning fire in Rotterdam, fire officials said.
Firefighters arrived to find the resident sitting on the front lawn and flames coming from the home, First Assistant Carman Fire Chief Jeff Riccio said.
The resident was taken to Albany Medical Center for burns. Riccio did not have an update on the man’s condition.
Three responding firefighters also suffered heat-related issues as a result, Riccio said. Two were treated at the scene, the third was taken on to the hospital for further treatment.
The fire call came in just before 10 a.m. at 1013 Outer Drive in Rotterdam’s Coldbrook neighborhood.
“Upon arrival we had fire coming out of both front windows, as well as the doorway and both windows on the second floor,” Riccio said.
