The NWI Times:
Monday afternoon’s excessive heat caused firefighters from as far as Hobart and Boone Grove to respond to a residential fire.
Three firefighters were transported to local hospitals with heat exhaustion and another five or six were treated at the scene, said South Haven Fire Department Deputy Chief Brandon Cotton.
Firefighters were called to 393 Millport Drive about 3:45 p.m. with the report of a structure fire.
Cotton said when the first firefighters arrived, the house was heavily involved in smoke and flames. There was no one at home at the time of the fire. The house was home to three adults.
