Rick Markley    August 11, 2019    No Comments

By Tulsi Kamath, KXAN:

Firefighters battled a 3-alarm fire at a Westlake Hills home for hours Sunday morning, calling multiple times for help from crews from other agencies.

The homeowners of a house at the 500 block of Buckeye Trail woke up around 7 a.m. to the smell of smoke and called 911.

Westlake Fire Department District Chief Heath Nobles told KXAN the first units that arrived on scene saw “heavy fire conditions in the home,” that was mostly on the back deck and later spread to the attic which spanned the full width of the house.

An hour after the initial call, the fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire so more units could respond and assist with the firefighting effort.
