The American College of Sports Medicine is putting out the Challenge “Are You As Tough As A Firefighter?”…and Firefighters are invited in addition to Sports Medicine Professionals and Athletic Trainers.
For the first time ever, they’re going to conduct a Collegiate Relay Challenge, at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) next door to the Orange
County Convention Center on the parking lot of the Rosen Center Hotel.
DATES: May 28, 29 and 30.
This event is hosted by Orange County Fire Rescue.
Colleges, universities and exhibitors are invited to form 3-5 person relay teams and race on the same course as Firefighters for high honors, bragging rights and cool prizes.
ESPN’s Toughest Two Minutes in Sports™ will be located on the Rosen Center parking lot, adjacent to the Orange County (Florida) Convention Center. Starting on Tuesday morning May 28 and for the next two days (May 29 and 30), Challenge Firefighter Mentors will explain, demonstrate and coach teams on the five connected fire ground tasks [Climb, Hoist, Slam, Pull, Drag] that comprise The Challenge. The Relay Team will then organize their members by task and run for a Seeding Round time for record.
The ACSM Annual Meeting is the most comprehensive sports medicine and exercise science conference in the world. More than 6,000 industry professionals from around the world attend to share new clinical techniques, scientific advancements and cutting-edge research.
