A person was killed after they were shot while being treated in the back of an ambulance in south Charlotte this morning. A bad guy walked up to the ambulance with a gun and shot the victim multiple times while they were being treated by Paramedics.
Initially, cops were called to a Days Inn around 0345 hours. for a disturbance in a room with about six people inside-when one of the people inside began complaining about shortness of breath, so EMS was called to the hotel.
While that person was inside the ambulance, he asked if a friend could come with him. The Paramedic explained it’s against protocol to allow extra people in the ambulance, so that person left. A few minutes later, the bad guy returned with a gun and shot the victim multiple times. The 2 Paramedics on the scene were not injured during the shooting. The victim, 34, died at the scene. Thankfully-the EMS personnel (Mecklenburg EMS MEDIC) and others are ok.
The MEDIC crew involved and all police officers are OK. No officers had to fire their weapons during the incident. The officers and the paramedics were both offered counseling due to the nature of the investigation. A 32 year old has been charged with murder.
