Two paramedics and one other person had to be extricated from their vehicles after the ambulance and a car crashed on U.S. 19 in Largo (near Tampa) early Thursday morning. The crash happened around 3:35 a.m. in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19, at 150th Avenue North. The Sunstar ambulance was responding to a call at the time of the crash and it appeared the ambulance hit a sedan. The sedan then flipped. Firefighters had to extricate two paramedics from the ambulance. A woman who was driving the sedan was extricated from that car. All three people who were injured were in stable condition when they were transported to Bayfront Health.
The ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time of the crash.
