A Meadville, Pennsylvania firefighter suffered minor burns to the wrist area while fighting a house fire Monday. The firefighter was treated on scene by an ambulance crew.
Go Erie reports that the tenants were burning furniture outside the home when fire spread up the exterior and into the eaves. Four other fire departments provided mutual aid.
This is the first fire the department has fought since the city council forced it to reduce its crew size from four to three firefighters in a cost-saving move.
“I’m very happy with the job they did considering the manpower we had,” Meadville Fire Chief Hasko told Go Erie.
