We regret to pass on that Colmar Fire Company (near Philly) Firefighter Edward “Gary” Minnick was laid to rest Wednesday, after a drive-by funeral ceremony through Lansdale and Hatfield Boroughs. The funeral ceremony on Wednesday included a drive-through service at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale, followed by a procession past the company’s station in Hatfield and back again.
On Thursday, October 1, 2020, Firefighter Minnick, 65, was turning out for an oil leak at a gas station. While in the utility truck, he suffered a medical emergency and paramedics immediately performed life saving measures. All resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and he passed away from an apparent heart attack. Our condolences to all those affected. Rest In Peace.
