A 42-year-old is facing an aggravated harassment charge, accused of spitting on a Portland Fire & Rescue firefighter last Monday, October 15.
The firefighter said he was in a fire truck, waiting at a stop light when Branden Shelby rode up on a bicycle and spit in his face. Another firefighter confirmed he heard someone “hock a loogie” before seeing spit fly, court documents state.
An officer arrived to see four firefighter surrounding Shelby at SW Naito Parkway and Morrison Street.
Shelby told the officer he was “heated” because the firetruck’s rubber, flexible side light hit him when he was coming to a stop at the intersection, an affidavit states.
Shelby was later booked on the aggravated harassment charge
